For over two decades, Eddington’s of Exeter has maintained a dedicated focus on personalized service, seasonally-inspired menus and a value-driven customer experience. Expect quality ingredients at their peak of freshness at any given time, fresh off the vine, picked from the tree, foraged from the forest or dug up from the earth.
The yellow brick Italianate-style mansion on Main Street stands out with decorative bracket eaves, large bay windows and a well-manicured lawn with mature maple trees. This is the original Carling homestead (circa 1870s), a designated historic landmark. Contemporary updates from two extensive renovations, including an additional 20-seat dining room to ensure well-spaced tables and a tri-level fully-shaded seasonal deck for up to 60 people, blend smoothly with original features such as the elegant 12-foot ceilings upstairs and down.
Eddington’s team —Chef/owner James Eddington, Chef Patrick Grogan, and Chef Lori Debrower — is known for contemporary, casual fine cooking with a rustic charm. Eddington’s is Feast ON™-certified, and Chef Eddington farms 16 acres on the shores of Lake Huron, and other land with extensive gardens, growing over 25 varieties of fruits and vegetables that get on the menu at their peak freshness. Signature dishes include Lake Huron Pickerel with herb salsa verde, gourmet confit potato fry and vegetables, and an exquisite Seasoned Breast of Chicken with Brie and caramelized apples, new potatoes and vegetable. Also recommended are the Local Filet Mignon with shallot merlot au jus, garlic potato mash and vegetable, and the vegan Legume Vegetable Wellington with puff pastry, roasted beet risotto and market vegetables.
