This family-owned destination berry farm and garden centre has been growing some of the tastiest berries around for three generations, dating back to 1963. The Heeman family is passionate about local flavours! While famous for their mouthwatering berries and beautiful flowers, new experiences on their farm are sure to delight your senses!
Heeman’s garden centre is a preferred destination for all gardening and berry needs for London and surrounding communities. Extensive grounds and greenhouses make this a true gardener’s paradise. In addition to being the area’s largest berry farm, Heeman’s also boasts one of the largest plant collections in Southwest Ontario. Home chefs know the secret to a great meal is premium ingredients and you’ll find a great selection of both common and heirloom varieties of vegetable plants, herbs and fruits. With over 35 varieties of tomatoes, eight varieties of basil and plenty of thyme, you’ll be delighted by their fresh homegrown plant selection.
If you’re looking to plant your flower beds or planters to redo the landscape, their selection of annuals, perennials, pre-made containers, trees and shrubs will astound you. While you’re browsing over 100,000 square feet of retail space you can stop for a view of the goldfish pond from the dock and wander the display garden complete with waterfalls, walking paths, and water features teeming with frogs and tadpoles. Be sure to treat yourself at the Berry Beanery to a locally roasted coffee, Berries & Cream Latte, or the famous Strawberry Sundae (or raspberry!) — made from Heeman’s own fresh berries. Any time of year, there’s something here for everyone.
Flowers, Berries and Beyond!
From humble beginnings in 1963, the Heeman family has grown in number while the business has broadened into exciting new areas. The third generation of the family now have roles working side-by-side with the second generation in the operation. Heeman’s is truly a family business and a team effort. While enormously proud of their history, innovation remains critical to Heeman’s success. Their varietal honey is produced by bees from their own hives. Heeman’s Hard Apple Cider, crafted onsite with Ontario apples, is the latest addition to the large mix of local products. Cheers!
