Just two blocks from downtown, this is definitely the best time you’ll ever have at a jobsite! Owners Dave Oldenburger and Phil Buhler worked together for years as carpenters on a wide variety of projects. A construction site conversation sparked the brewery name and concept. After a look at the former lumber yard portion of Stratford’s old Pounder building, they were soon pouring concrete and their style of craft beer.
The large and family-friendly brewery retains the exposed and raw interior of the historical building, allowing full access to the taproom and an events space in the production area. Reclaimed lumber was used for doors and tables, and the decor picks up the construction theme throughtout. A wood-fired pizza oven helps make this a warm place to enjoy great beer, craft drinks, and a delicious bite.
There’s a craft beer for every drinker, with core brands including the very light and easy drinking 2×4 Cream Ale; the Big Pour Stout, smooth with hints of chocolate smoked bacon and a gentle vanilla finish; Impact IPA, with large hits of hop aromas and medium bitterness; and the Wrong Nail Amber Ale, with rich amber colour and deep flavours that hit the nail on the head! Cocktails, wine and ciders are also available. Enjoy a Three Cheese, Spinach & Mushroom, or Pepperoni pizza with your choice of beverage.
