Nestled on 38 acres in the heart of the Lake Erie North Shore Wine Route, Oxley Estate Winery showcases the beauty of every season. Open year round, there is a small, intimate wine shop and an excellent restaurant. Spacious grounds and gardens, a generous Wine Garden patio and a light-filled barn and loft can accommodate all kinds of events with comfort and style.

The Scene

In the scenic and historic hamlet of Oxley, the Oxley Estate Winery vineyards are blessed with long, sunny days, light lake breezes, and rich sandy loam soil over a 30-foot-deep limestone ridge. Comfy Muskoka chairs allow visitors to sit and relax while basking in the sun, listen to live music or cuddle near the outdoor wood-burning fireplace. In season, the tented patio is the perfect spot to taste and enjoy great wine and conversation and to meet new friends.

Wine & Menu Highlights

Oxley makes small-batch award-winning wines that include Riesling, Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Bianca, Hibernal, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Regent — the German wunderkind — a fruity, light-bodied red. Eco-friendly farming practices, including reduced chemical intervention, encourage a healthy and sustainable environment. Vines are planted in a north-south direction, spaced to maximize morning sun exposure and provide protection from evening overheating. Plantings follow the European model, using various rootstocks to avoid a mono-culture and to maximize the imprint of Oxley’s unique terroir. The rewards are in every bottle.
The Oxley restaurant embraces the bounty of ingredients grown, raised and caught right down the road, including beautiful produce, and fresh perch from Lake Erie. Chef creates enticing lunch and dinner entrées that are full of flavour. Remember to save room for the Crème Brûlée! Other recommendations include:
Lake Erie Yellow Perch with house-cut fries, Oxley slaw and tartar;
Sticky Pickled Duck Wings, with a honey & Szechuan vinaigrette, sugared chilis, toasted sesame, radish & scallions;
Freshly Shucked Oysters, with lemon, house mignonette or fresh horseradish.
