REVIVAL HOUSE: A Historic Gem, Re-imagined with Passion.

Written by The Editors

Seasonal Garden Patio

This is a destination where the tradition of fine dining — perhaps paired with a live music performance — becomes a memorable experience. Housed in an architectural masterpiece, formerly known as The Church Restaurant, the venue enhances the exceptional cuisine, a blend of historical and locally-inspired flavours that exemplify a true taste of Ontario.

The Scene

The beautifully restored Revival House is decorated in a rich tapestry of wood finishes, exposed brick, light walls, gold railings, and purple accents and banquettes. Ornamenting the bright interiors are original light fixtures and stained glass windows. The dark-wood organ pipes provide a striking backdrop for the stunning curved bar that is crowned with a theatrical copper chandelier. The main room, housed in the sanctuary of the 130+ year-old heritage church, has an elevated altar that is easily transformed into a stage for concerts and performances. The upstairs 65-seat gastro-lounge, The Belfry, (also available for private dining) features an exotic ambience with peacock blues, a vaulted ceiling and a working copper fireplace. An inviting sun-drenched garden patio is open seasonally.

Menu Highlights

Revival House menus offer modern French-style cuisine that expresses the depth of Perth County’s food culture. Since opening, Revival House chef-driven menus have revealed a passion for using housemade, local and sustainable ingredients, showcasing the terroir and the best of what Ontario has to offer. High Tea and Sunday Brunch add yet another layer of temptation to the offerings. The re-imagined dishes at Revival House include:
Revival Chicken — country herb-marinated chicken supreme sous vide, roasted until crispy skinned, with delicate white wine risotto, honey roasted Brussels sprouts & butternut squash, finished with cranberry sauce;
Warm Big Bowl Salad — a generous mix of couscous, marinated olives, toasted walnuts, boiled egg, roasted beets, butternut squash, confit cherry tomatoes, and greens topped with a herb dressing;
Charcuterie and Cheese — a selection of locally sourced cured meats, Canadian cheese (specifically from Stratford’s own Monforte Dairy), chutney, pickled vegetables and grilled bread
