Located in one of the oldest properties in Ilderton, circa 1873, and retaining many of its period features, The Village Teapot is a welcoming tearoom full of warmth and charm. Launched in 2017 by friends Jana Yassine and Gaynor Deeks (originally from the UK), the attentive service and good, simple, homemade food — prepared in-house — has been well-received by townspeople and visitors alike.
Quaint touches include vintage cups, saucers and tea services that complement the historic building and the wooden floors, tables and chairs. Longtime tea drinkers, sandwich makers, and home bakers Jana and Gaynor took their years of experience and created a place that they would enjoy themselves. A soothing ambiance and friendly service provides a welcome respite for a bite and a cuppa, a step back to a simpler time.
Popular menu items include delicious homemade soups, croissants filled with in-house baked ham and mature cheddar, homemade savoury pastries and quiches full of quality ingredients, buttery scones, ploughman’s lunch plates and creative seasonal salads. An afternoon tea platter is offered daily and weekend brunch includes a variety of Breakfast Bites. Vegetarian options and gluten-free options are available and every effort will be made to accommodate special dietary needs.
Traditional Sunday Roasts with fresh vegetables are offered at lunch and dinner, by reservation only.
Pure leaf teas come in silk pyramids, and afternoon and cream tea is offered daily. Enjoy delicious hand-roasted, French press coffee, or local craft beer or wine.
