As part of a mission to redefine what “local” means to craft beer, Shakespeare Brewing Co. is fully committed to using Ontario-grown ingredients for a true Ontario taste. Adding this agricultural component to its artisanal approach supports farmers and other small local businesses.
The Scene
Husband and wife team Ayden and Katie were inspired by travels in Europe and found the perfect space in the quaint town of Shakespeare, 10 minutes from Stratford, for a welcoming and kid-friendly (they have two youngsters) brewery. Enjoy a free sample or a glass inside the cozy English-style taproom. In warmer weather grab a seat on the beer garden patio, surrounded by cascading hops. Snacks are available or bring your own food!
Beer Highlights
Six core brands and a variety of limited releases and seasonal brews ensure there is something for everyone. Favourites include The Reckless Rooster — an Ontario Pale Ale, mildly bitter with balanced malt character and 100% Ontario-grown ingredients.
