Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery
Siblings Tanya (Winemaker) and Steve Mitchell (Sales & Marketing) have been crafting wines for 16 years on their beachfront farm. Grapes were planted in 1991 by their parents and their family opened the Winery together in 2006. Today they have over 20 different wine styles to choose from, available to sample at their beautiful winery every day from 11 to 5.

The Scene
Ontario’s only beachfront winery, Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery handcrafts 100% Ontario vqa wines. A deep love of wine, art and rustic architecture influenced the Mitchell family to create a beautiful Tuscan-style “old world” building with large cellars. Extensive balconies offer breathtaking views of the vineyard and Lake Erie. The interior is accented by dark wood trim, and warm wall and chandelier lighting, with a 17-foot custom-made bar as its focus. An elegant Reception Hall with panoramic views was added in 2015. Full service wedding and event planning services are available.
Taste wines, explore the property, or enjoy one of the iconic picnics on the beach or patio. Picnic baskets include gourmet cheese, deli baguettes, fruit, vegetables, hummus, antipasto, dessert, and all the necessary tools. Wine tastings are available daily. Private and guided group tours can be arranged.

With a focus on quality and small batch production, they produce a series of excellent vintages — over 20 different wine styles — all available at the winery store. Sprucewood Shores Pinot Grigio and Dry Riesling (both Silver Medal Winners for 2020’s vintage, available now), Sweet Select Riesling, and Cabernet Merlot (Lady in Red) are also available at the LCBO. A mulled wine — Warm ’n Cozy — is produced in November and December, perfect for chilly nights.

Sprucewood Shores Appassimento wines are the first and only wines produced from dried grapes in the Lake Erie North Shore region. These mind-blowing wines of excellent quality can be opened now but have great aging potential and will develop even more complexity in 5–7 years.
